Sicily is the ancestral home of the notorious Corleone family at the heart of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic nine-hour cinematic saga.

This tour is perfect for all the fans of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather. Our professional guide will take you to visit the towns Savoca and Forza D’Agrò where the film was set in the early 70’s.

This tour experience is a real insight into the Sicily island, the locals, their culture and every day way of life.

We will pick you up from (your port of call, cruiseship,or from your accommodation) drive the medieval hill town above Taormina with breathtaking sea and Etna views, scenic drive to Savoca it will be like taking a step back in time.

It’s a drive across the roads and villages of the most beautiful hidden corners of this area way off the beaten track. Savoca is not a tourist town, it is a simple old time typical town set on the hillside of the foothills of the Peloritiani Mountains.  Savoca was chosen by Francis Ford Coppola to stand in for the less photogenic Corleone.  While in town “a must” is the stop at the famous bar “VITELLI” on the corner of the town, one of Coppola’s favourite spots, and seen many times throughout the Godfather film. The table where Micheal Corleone sat to ask the padrone for the hand of his delightful daughter Apollonia is still there.

Next stop is the Church of Santa Lucia, where the scene of the wedding between Michael Corleone and Apollonia was shot. Inside the church there is a beautiful statue of St. Lucy made by Reginaldo D’agostino.

Drop in at the Cappuccini Monastery, where the crypt has catacombs preserving 37 fully dressed mummified bodies from the 18th century.

From Savoca we will visit Forza d’Agrò, without a doubt one of the best examples of a typical village of the Province of Messina, which still conserves its medieval street layout, and on all sides of the town, you have the most incredible views.

Sant’Agostino, a church in the charming hilltop village of Forza d’Agro, features in the second film, in the scene where Vito escapes to the US hotly pursued by Don Ciccio’s men. Some scenes from the The Godfather Part III were also shot here.
